We'll do better next season. We'll have statistics and up-to-date standings on our Web site. And we'll probably have 16 teams in the playoffs. I think 24 teams this season is too many.

We'll see larger differences the older kids get. The new tests put more emphasis on probability and statistics with 11th graders. Previously most of the emphasis was on algebra and geometry. What changes is more of the emphasis.

The spending philosophy of those consumers who 'live for today' is no surprise in light of soaring debt statistics nationwide. What is surprising are the types of people who actually live this big spending philosophy. While the strongly agreed/agreed response was spread fairly evenly over 18 to 54 year-olds, there was a definite division along income lines.

We needed playoff replacements for the Florida Pit Bulls and Gallup Talons. We chose the Ohio Aviators and Boston, partly because Boston changed ownership during the season and did a good job.

We looked at the NBA, NHL, MLB, NFL, CBA and NBDL and there were little or no minority ownerships. Unless you were a famous star, all of those leagues were excluding minorities.

We're not trying to attract a big sum of new people to move here. We're trying to find jobs for people who are already here.
