We worked really hard to make sure that the stories are compelling and that the characters come through.

I think the naturalistic dialogue in the show and the fact that it feels very easy, very real, allows you to explore the characters more than would be expected.

For me, this show feels like the best in comedy and drama. What I responded to is it felt real, for lack of a better word. It felt like if you peeked over a fence in the backyard and watched your neighbors, this is what you would see.
