We were part of that era that said the establishment and giving away your life to spend 40 years on an assembly line is not OK. But it took us a while to figure out what to do if we're not depending on the establishment.

And you also can create the life you want. 'Follow your bliss' is not lightly said. There will be consequences and choices to make, but there's integrity in following what you know you should be doing for yourself.

We provide the impetus for people, the sense that it is doable. You don't need a background in writing or publishing. Denis is helping other people do what he learned to do himself. He empowers them with techniques.

Being flexible was really important to us. Sometimes that meant being willing to do without. We had some lean years, but we were with our kids.

A lot of people set themselves goals they aren't able to meet and want to do the leap. Coaching really can help them assess the little steps that will add up. When you consign the impossibility of your dream to someone else or to a structure you create together, you can let go of the anxiety that you're not doing that thing you want to do. You can relax and do it.

It's been certainly more than a job, it's been giving me a charmed life, ... If I could've dreamt what the outcome of my career would've been when I'd auditioned 20 years ago, you know, I would have never believed it. It's just given me the greatest blessings and gifts and rewards and challenges. It's really been quite a trip.
