We were not mentally prepared for this one. (The coaches) saw it prior to the game. Things were not business.

In the second half, with the exception of the one touchdown, we controlled the defensive side of the ball against the seventh-ranked team in 3A. We kept feeling if we got one big play we'd turn the game around.

It's tough with all the new faces, but it's great to see them all out there. The coaching staff meets every day after practice to talk about depth charts. We have four full teams on offense and four on defense.

The kids are coming out in droves. We haven't seen that here in years.
