We were created not to be another school of management. San Diego already has schools of management in business. They do a fine job at what they're supposed to do, but it isn't why the industry in San Diego -- and beyond -- wanted us to exist.

This affiliation is very important for us. The campus would not agree to have just another school of management. We either had to aspire to be significant and have an impact or they wouldn't do it at all.

Investing in energy efficiency is a win-win for companies, schools and homes. Business owners, school districts and home owners see the benefit in reduced energy costs – and, doing their part to reduce environmental impacts from energy production and use.

Their school is one of the best business schools there is. And that's what I plan to major in.

There is a significant shortage of minority graduate business school students choosing hospital and health care management as a career. At HCA, we face this issue every day as we recruit young talent into our executive development program. Recognizing this growing problem, Barbara and I wanted to make a personal commitment to increasing minority leadership in health care. Given that Fuqua has the premier MBA Health Sector Management program in the country, a scholarship program aimed at minority students seemed to us the best way to fulfill this commitment.

Sometimes you don't receive because you don't ask. Schools are competitive. They want numbers. They want the school full.
