We want to overcome the gap between the people who generate science and those who use it. Many people or groups may not be all that comfortable calling up a university for help. Many people are also frustrated that they can't find the information they need. It may be available, but it's just not easily accessible.

It's a significant challenge. There really isn't anything else like it. We are inventing something new.

We all know how George Mason felt the other night. But they've done a super job, and we're happy with how we did.

We basically have a crisis in this country with not enough of our own homegrown talent taking up science as a career and also just with basic science literacy. We have to get more funding for those areas that are going to provide basic research. All innovation eventually stems from basic research, and we have to advocate on behalf of policies that are going to really promote an environment in the U.S. for innovation, because that's going to keep us competitive.

By offering Women in Mathematics Day, we wanted to encourage girls to study mathematics and science by providing them with a unique, high-quality experience designed to foster interest in mathematics.

The kids eat it up. They just love it, and it's fun. It brings the exploration of science and math to life for them. If you can get them through fun, you've got 'em.
