We talked to the kids about those three losses and what you can learn from them as far as character and hanging in there is concerned. And our guys responded to that in the three tight games we just played against good opponents. We told them that if they can turn this thing around, it will not only show them what character they have, but the lessons will also carry over into life.

He's worked hard to improve his punting and that played a big part in the win. Of course, getting two field goals of 40 yards or more was nice.

We couldn't move the ball in the third quarter. They were just ganging up on us and we couldn't complete a pass. But we were able to put a drive together in the fourth quarter and then we were trying to get a couple first downs and then Ben Woodward broke that big one. We were just hoping to eat some clock and give them the ball back. But being ahead by two scores is a lot better than being ahead by one.

That's the kind of play that if it works, you pat them on the back. If it doesn't work, you say what the heck are you doing.

We were trying to think what we wanted to do. We knew we had at least two plays because we decided to kick the field goal on third down, but Justin took care of that for us with his run.
