We stayed neutral. We continued to get calls about it, and we made it clear to the county leaders and anyone who asked that we were staying out and deferring to the members of the Council to make that choice.

We realized as a growing group of community leaders, we should know how we fit in economic development and the role we play. Most of us didn't even know.

The governor's action is reckless in its disregard for the health care needs of all New Yorkers.

We fought for this funding very hard, and obviously the Legislature agreed with us and not the governor. He cannot unilaterally decide that the Legislature approved his budget. That's clearly not what happened.

It's definitely very busy out there.

The question is whether or not you're going to put it into things to improve quality of care, or whether you're just going to get a blank check.
