Katie Hogan, a teaching scholar, and Mary Farmer, our fellow and an award-winning teacher from Illinois, will discuss what they think future teachers should know and things you won't learn in class.

At ISU, we provide more opportunities for our scholars to further their education and to become the best teachers that they can possibly be.

We do receive some financial assistance, but the aspect that makes Golden Apple Scholars so different from other scholarship programs is that we commit our four summers of college to teaching in Chicago and gaining experience.

The map is also designed to help those with a little less local knowledge the information needed. It's going to be a tool for anybody that wants a tool.

Countries like Malawi need, require and deserve the increased help of the international community, not only in the form of food aid but in the form of help to grow more food.
