We played two good teams. It's nice for our kids to get away.

They trapped us, make us get the ball out of our hands. Our kids did a good job. (But) we missed about half our free throws and some easy shots.

I told our kids (the win) wouldn't be as big as a district game, because district games get you to the state tournament, and it obviously wouldn't be as important as a playoff game, but from where we were, at this point of the season, it was as important a game as we've played in a number of years this early.

The New Kids took some hits for, you know, not writing their own music. But on a songwriting standpoint, I mean, I'd never written music before when I was in the group, ... Now the music is my music, so it's kind of like my baby, and that was a whole different experience.

She did a great job. She's been playing as well as she's been playing all year, the last two games, against Roswell and Clovis, and Cibola here. She played a heck of a game not to foul out.

That's a good basketball team, I thought.
