We lost a lot of high tech jobs recently. They've been replaced with service sector (lower pay) jobs.

My first jobs were all civil service. At 14, I worked for the Canadian National Railways. At 16, I worked for the Canadian Penitentiary Service.

It's one of the few jobs, considered a service sector, that allows a person without a significant amount of education to get paid pretty well.

A decrease in the number of service sector jobs contributed to a weakening of the labor market in December.

This service has created hundreds of new jobs and injected millions of dollars into our local economy.

Obviously, there are always service jobs, however, those are not always self-sustaining wages. And, for our organization, our goal is to match job seekers with appropriate self-sustaining employment.
