We know there is a possibility of people yelling insults and disagreement. We are not anticipating any acts of violence or hate.

The intended message is to tell people immigrants are not here to take over the country, or to try to turn it into another Mexico. We have learned from other protests and that's why we want to stress to people immigrants give a lot to this country and that they love this country.

It was remarkable. The only explanation is that people feel so strongly about this issue that it overcomes fear.

We are studying here. We want to be able to work here. My parents are immigrants, too.

Even some employers who have called us, like one construction company owned by a Latino businessman, gave the day off to 150 workers.

It is wonderful that they did this and let the kids get dressed up.
