We knew she wasn't a real fast pitcher and we worked on that in practice, but we just didn't hit the ball very well tonight at all. That was my biggest complaint. We worked so hard at it in practice and then we come out to it and we're hesitant at the plate.

We were a little behind in the first couple of innings. So I told the girls to be more aggressive. You're not going to get two buckets of balls (to hit) in a game, you're going to get three strikes and you're out. After the first two innings, we came on and got better.

We don't face that kind of pitching. It took three days' practice to try to get it down, and we still struggled.

Another thing we've tried to do is lighten practice a little bit. We're on the ice 22 times this month (for games) so we're trying to make it fun.

It's a kind of game you like to have. You can't duplicate this atmosphere in practice. I was happy to get a win. They are tough to come by on the road.
