We journeyed through ancient China by traveling along the Silk Road on a CD simulation. The girls learned how the 7,000-mile route opened trade between the Far East and the West and connected ancient China to the Roman Empire.

The girls were fascinated to learn how many inventions and technological advancements came from ancient China. The development of writing, the process of printing, and the production of paper from trees all originated in ancient China. Gunpowder, the umbrella and the compass are just a few examples of things that were invented.

I have to give the girls credit, we've been on the road a lot and have had to rise above adversity with missed calls, bad bounces, and things that didn't go our way, and they've gotten used to it and fought through it.

More and more girls are standing at the road side, many of them not even thirteen of age.
