We have inducted 116 people into our hall of fame. We try to have a cross-section of folks from education, government, entertainment and the community at large. The most important quality these inductees have is that they have truly given of themselves. It's about having a personal and passionate commitment to bettering the world.

Each honoree receives a plaque and mementos from the high school. Often our legislators give a proclamation. To be honored by the place that raised you, your school, is quite special.

When the consortium began, we asked the community to talk to us about what they viewed as important. They told us children, the future and staying in touch with people who no longer made McKeesport their home was important. This was the seed of the McKeesport High School Alumni and Friends Association and the creation of the hall of fame.

Fame is but the breath of people, and that often unwholesome.

Fame means millions of people have the wrong idea of who you are.

The 'Hall of Fame' says a lot — that the trucks are famous and the people that drove them are famous, ... We want to highlight some people who have done some incredible things.
