We have a duty to prevent the consequences of assault.

Duty is ours; consequences are God's.

We haven't investigated online gambling specifically. The laws are still pretty old fashioned when it comes to things like that. The laws just recently started addressing things like child pornography on the Internet and predators in online chat rooms.

Only when the voice of duty is silent, or when it has already spoken, may we allowably think of the consequences of a particular action.

There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. And with it comes the only basic human duty, the duty to take the consequences.
