We hadn't expected an event like that. The caldera is a lot more dynamic than we thought, and this tells us more about how the plumbing of the caldera works as well.

I thought they'd try to run a lot more outside to open up the field. I think after a while, they were just trying to make a play, anywhere.

We thought we'd have an opportunity to cross-examine Mr. Thompson. Almost every witness in the proceeding has referred to statements or actions made by Damian Thompson.

This is probably an ongoing feature in Yellowstone. We've only been able to study it like this for 10 years, so we're still not sure what's normal and what's not. But there's no evidence yet to suspect an eruption.

Magma's always coming up in Sour Creek dome and going through the system. But maybe there are pulses when more comes up. That may be what causes the surface to rise.
