We expect it to be a regular event . . . every year or every other year.

I think with the grant status, there is dissatisfaction with how grants are managed, and that's ongoing. Dealing with the state is easier than dealing with the county.

They end up competing with some of the other arts groups, certainly with funding, that's a big issue, and programming. Many of the arts groups didn't feel there was any representation there. They don't function as an arts council. They are their own separate organization.

That's fine with us. If Doral had stayed a regular event, we would have rotated dates.

They can dress it up as much as they want, but it's a regular event with a big purse. It's a great event. It's the best one we have.

My fam is just a regular family. But all of them have great senses of humor.
