We don't believe the average American wants to see tiny, embryonic boys and girls -- children -- used as experimental material.

There are Boys & Girls Clubs in 46 of Florida's 67 counties helping 180,000 children. And we know our programs work.

When I put my children back in the Boys and Girls Club this year they told me it would be ten dollars cheaper per child, so this is a much better deal.

Boys & Girls Clubs across the nation have had a positive impact on the lives of children for the last 100 years. The changes that have taken place in the clubs, even in the past decade, have been amazing to witness, so to think about what these clubs will look like in the next century is hard to imagine. I'm excited to see what our kids have come up with.

That said, pointing out inaccurate or unrealistic portrayals of women to younger grade school children-ages five to eight-does seem to be effective, when done judiciously:taking to little girls about body image and dieting, for example, can actually introduce them to disordered behavior rather than inoculating them against it. I may be taking a bit of a leap here, but to me all this indicated that if you are creeped out about the characters fromMonster High, it is fine to keep them out of your house.
