We didn't swim well (last Friday), particularly in the morning session. The upside was we still were in second place. We told the guys even though we didn't match our times from district in most of the events (in the morning preliminaries), we still have a chance to do very well. They got fired up and did well in the evening session.

We should think more laterally and ask ourselves, do we need a Friday session?

Were it not for the third cars, the Friday session would just be dire.

I just don't see any upside surprise in terms of a second half recovery.

We're going to miss the and seniors. They mean a lot to me because they're my first class that I've had for four years.

Based on what I've seen, we look to be in pretty good shape as a team. It's possible that we could go in as the projected state champion. Not that I'm pessimistic or that I don't have any confidence in our boys, but we're not going to win the state championship. (St. Xavier) is in a class by itself. ... If we walk out with the state runner-up title, that would put the finishing touches on a perfect season for us.
