We didn't do much offensively for about 36-37 minutes, but our guys showed some character by playing hard at the defensive end until the shots started falling for us.

I didn't have to concentrate… and after a number of minutes it felt very natural. Because of the character of the tone they've chosen, it was quite intuitive to determine my position. The left and right was indicated by the stereo effect and the forward and back had a different characteristic. It was very easy to learn quickly.

The casting process wasn't so much about them being a character, which is the normal way. The character had to become them.... You've got to bring 70 percent, 80 percent of yourself to the party. And an actor's either willing to expose themselves like that, or they're not.

This character was me like four years ago. (He's) trying to make things work with the wrong person and screwing things up with the right person. I think that's something anyone can relate to.

In this last movie, I gave it quite a lot of thought to my character, and I fell back on a lot of managers and agents that I've had, and my early New York days where comics would sit around a table doing jokes and the managers would have jokes, and so I based it on a lot of that.
