We didn't agree with the claim that it was any type of violation of the separation between church and state. We hope that this will be the last chapter in this painful and divisive fight.

Like it or not, a Jewish cemetery is an extension of the Jewish community. The police can have one view; we can have another. This doesn't affect our feelings. We'll always work with the police.

It is very much a legitimate debate, and ultimately, it's the local residents that are going to decide this. But let's have this debate settled in a way that makes all local residents proud.

I have never met a happy atheist. I believe in separation of church and state, but I think we have gone so far over in the other direction of separating church and state.

There is nothing that stops them, except the separation of church and state -- you can't be proselytizing.

Maybe it's unfair but it's a separation of church and state issue.
