We certainly have to develop energy conservation programs for households. For instance, if your household was to buy a new energy efficient furnace, our provincial government should pick up the GST on that purchase.

Who can't make money in energy these days?

Certainly whenever the province is getting high royalties as a result of high natural gas prices on the North American market, they are obligated to share that royalty with the citizens who own it.

The government has let consumers down here. This deregulated market has not worked. We need to make the natural gas companies use hedging and to develop significant underground storage capacity.

We're looking into conserving landfill space. We're looking to generate energy without relying on fossil fuel. So there's a lot of interest in using this waste stream and turning it into a beneficial product.
