We, Britain and Germany, can neither of us be happy about our handling of the Iraq war.

Our motives (for war against Iraq) are becoming mixed as extra motives are thrown into the pot.

Germany didn't want to got to war (in Iraq). I don't know how to say it any more simply than that.

In Germany, the public would be evenly divided, much unlike in 2003, where virtually everyone was against the Iraq war.

It was essentially for self defence that we went to war in Afghanistan and would go to war in Iraq.

Well, it looks like we've moved a step closer to war. Not with Iraq. With France and Germany. How did we screw that one up?
