We are playing a very important role in the design of the 2010 Census. As a census test site, we are setting the standard for how the Census Bureau counts American Indians all over the United States.

The tribe is looking forward to strengthening our families, our communities and our partnerships as we implement our Tribal Ventures 10-Year Poverty Reduction Plan.

What are they going to do? Lay off some teachers or a couple of counselors?

We appreciate [the foundation's] respectful approach that promotes tribally designed strategies. This approach allowed our plan to be holistic, connected to our cultural values, and targeted at stimulating sustained growth for our economy.

I don't think Indians were on her agenda. She delegated too much authority away to people who were detrimental to Indians.
