Visual art is an incredibly important component in the development of a child...Our weekly sessions with the children are important to both the children and the volunteers.

I wanted to combine my art history and sociology background to create an interdisciplinary project that would make positive change in a D.C. community.

The Eagle Endowment grant was a great start.

Most practices would see children, but they were adult-oriented. They did not specialize or focus on pediatrics, whereas in other larger communities, there are plenty of pediatric therapy providers.

This summer we'll offer a fitness and coordination clinic for children - that could be children with a disability, or a child of typical development who needs to improve some of those skills.
