Violence is black children going to school for 12 years and receiving 6 years' worth of education.

It's to get the education out there to dispel the myth that everybody is doing it. (Middle school-aged children) have the misconception that everybody in middle school drinks. It is not the social norm. That is what we're trying to get across to them.

I tell young people to prepare themselves as best they can for a world that grows more challenging every day-get the best education they can, and couple that education with real-life experience in social justice work.

When I think of school I think of Hell.

Misdirected focus on paperwork, on procedures, and on bureaucracy frustrates teachers and fails to give children the education they need.
