Violence against women in all its forms is a human rights violation. It's not something that any culture, religion or tradition propagates.

Human rights are women's rights, and women's rights are human rights.

Violence is not a respecter of persons and, just like everyone has human rights, every human can have their rights infringed upon. Every human has a right to be respected.

Violence against women and girls touches every corner of the globe and is one of the world's most pervasive human rights violations.

This is a clear human rights violation and it is regrettable that it is coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the independence of Sudan.

Gay rights are human rights.
