Tom was pretty much looking for a rider [in the Sam Davis]. We had had some success with Jose riding a couple of other horses for Tom. We took the call and things have gone great. Tom has been a big booster for us.

We've all pitched there; we've all had some success there. Sometimes it's not pretty, but as long as you can just kind of check your ego at the door when you get there and just worry about winning, you'll be fine.

I want him to be in a good rhythm going into the Derby.

We're very excited. I think we have a shot.

Hopefully we can show what he's got in the Wood. This should be unbelievable. He is definitely ready. He has already ridden at some high levels. One thing he really strives on as a rider, he's got ice water in his veins. I always tell him he is a Michael Jordan type. He always rides his race. He never gets nervous.

It's when you cry just a little, but you laugh in the middle that you've made it.
