To say he was a guy who was always drawing up stuff on cocktail napkins, that would be a little bit of [an embellishment], and he doesn't need that to validate what he's doing. He's a very bright guy, one of those guys who has to know what everybody is doing on a play, and why they're doing it. He sees the whole picture.

He had to know all the assignments. I always thought he could coach about anything. He just has a feel for the game, and he's an excellent teacher. At Vanderbilt, he did a great job with our special teams. We didn't have much of a team, but that was the strength of it.

I've gotten to know him pretty well from cocktail parties over the years, ... He's a very fine guy, a very nice guy and is extremely well qualified for the Court. It actually surprised me that Mr. Bush would pick someone this good.

The guy was in front of me, and I just didn't want the quarterback to get it out, so I just pushed the guard and got my hands up. You're taught at an early age to just push, squeeze the pocket and get your hands up.

I don't know exactly what he's done, but whatever it is, I like it. Honestly, the guy has a renewed life for the game. His spirit uplifts everyone else. He plays the game with a passion that a lot of people don't see and that same passion he plays with on Sunday is what we see in practice – (in) the attention to detail. He's always studying, he's always focused on the task at hand. Then, right after that, he'll crack a joke.

I was always into noir. When I lived in Vermont I was drawing stuff that looked like an amateur doing Sin City. When I first got to New York I was swiftly informed that they only did guys in tights.
