This whole issue of diversity is not a race thing. It's not about whether you're black, Asian or white. Its about what you really know.

Diversity and race relations are getting to be hot-button issues on our campuses. I think the biggest issue is apathy, but kids will stop cutting each other down if we can give them activities to focus on.

Focusing on lessons of tolerance, inclusion and diversity will give Club members the skills and confidence needed to resist the 'safe' and 'inclusive' atmosphere gangs present to entice new members.

Nothing changes if we just feel shitty about being White. And nothing changes if we refuse to talk about it. The opposite of white pride does not have to be white shame. We can’t push it away and pretend it’s not us. We are not color-blind, we are not post-race, we do not get to reject our whiteness because it makes us feel bad…This does not get solved with a Celebration of Diversity Day and a coexist bumper sticker. I am happy with today. It is a good format, and the race committee did a great job with the distance and timing of the race.
