They shared how they had lost six family members. As we prayed, the woman broke into sobs of grief for her lost loved ones. Our ladies were able to hold her and comfort her and show her the love of Christ.

Grief is a curious thing, when it happens unexpectedly. It is a Band-aid being ripped away, taking the top layer off a family. And the underbelly of a household is never pretty, ours no exception.

As for the family members of victims, slap-on-the-wrist sentences compound the grief process.

So we've been able to mobilize many churches [and] various denominations, not just here but in San Antonio, Dallas, Beaumont, as well as helping our friends over in Picayune, Slidell, Waveland, and New Orleans.
