They said (Katrina) acted like a tornado, hit and miss. Some houses are there, and some are not.

These houses were flooded up to about the second story, if they had a second story, so everything was trashed. Everything that was in there had to come out.

When it's nice out, we like to take walks. We'll walk the local streets and look for shapes on houses. We'll look for triangles and squares. You'd be surprised how many that they find on the homes in the area.

By the end of the day, we were just numb. We lost a lot of good genetics, calves that died in the fire. That was pretty traumatic, to lose some of our well-established cow families.
