They (Hillcrest) did the same things they did last year ... when we won in sub-state play.

We were worried about (Hillcrest's) transition game. They had the lead most of the game and spread us out.

Their defensive pressure got to us. We were able to cut the lead at half to 24-19, but then they had us down by nine with four minutes to go. I'm more proud of the character of the kids than I am for their basketball abilities.

We didn't do anything special to score points on North Side. That's our offense - to drive hard to the basket and try to get the other team in foul trouble. It's worked quite a few times this season so we figured we try it again.
