They have fast tracked it (the proposed legislation) through the House and Senate committees. It?s amazing. The only ones who could do that is Alabama Power. I think the enemy is Alabama Power.

They need to slow down and give us time to give input.

We feel like the elected officials in the House and the Senate should be the ones looking at this legislation and making a decision. Just like we would not put to a vote for the public anything such as health codes, speed limits or things of that nature.

The Executive Committee is a body that chooses which legislation will be discussed before the entire Faculty Senate, which in total is about 10 pieces per year, as opposed to the Student (Association) Senate, which puts out about 50 to 75 resolutions a year.

In the bill that was introduced in the Senate, in the bill that I introduced along with some members, we preserve the tactical intelligence part of the equation, ... And so, I hope we can change their minds.

When a member of the House moves over to the Senate, he raises the IQ of both bodies
