They do weave reproductions of classic tapestries, but they're also creating new tapestries.

One of the first things we decided very early on ... was instead of creating a movie of all the classic iconic moonwalk moments that we've all seen, we would go just to the left or to the right of what we know, or what we think we know, ... So I would say the majority of the moments in the movie are not moments that we've seen before.

Collectors say, 'I hate reproductions. It's awful. Why would anybody do that?,' ... That's what they say officially. But behind the scenes they use our copies. On the walls they have our copies. All their paintings are in vaults.

The concept is to weave in some emotion,

At a certain point you have to leave childish things behind, and one of the childish things is a sense that 'Wow, I can draw' or in my case 'Wow, I can read'... You feel you have what's called a talent, but as you become an adult, if you hope to make things, you have to give up the preoccupation with talent otherwise you'll spend your life painting beautiful pictures of fruit bowls that look like fruit bowls.

Very few people have written about what a work really looks like, especially once there were photographic reproductions of works and so they felt that the photograph would carry the information, and, of course, it does a piss poor job of letting someone know of the scale of the work and of the physicality and how thick the paint was and what the touch was.
