They can throw as much money at this as they want and they still have problems.

We've had some problems with the (starts) the last couple of games. We've found ourselves down 10, 11 or 12 and then had to work so hard to get even. Our goal was to get a little cushion throughout the game so that when it came to crunch time we could take charge instead of having to just claw back.

We're very happy with the amount they raised. We would have liked to have put the money toward general expenses for caring for the animals, but things happen and just like that the priorities change. We are very fortunate the fundraiser was held when it was because at that point the money really helped us with replacing the well and pump.

Underwater, problems have a tendency to compound themselves.

If, coming out of this, ... New Orleans gets to lessen the burden of the social problems that its city and state government are supposed to solve, that would be amazing.

Public support, the money from the Virginia legislature and other revenue provide a nice stable operating base, but they won't get you to the next level.
