They bring a lot to our team, definitely. They always make it fun. They just say to have fun while you're in high school because it doesn't last forever and that basketball, whether we win or lose, it's not the end of the world. They just keep us going.

We're all young, so they had to show their maturity, so that we're more mature also. There's a pretty big age difference and they've shown us a lot of maturity on the court and off the court.

Being at the academy is a lot of fun for the athletes, but this competition is also an important one for them. This is their regional event, their opportunity to get qualified to compete at state level. Many of them get nervous. The Naval Academy personnel take a lot of the apprehension away, especially when the volunteers get in the water or on the field and participate in the event with the athlete. The athletes really enjoy that.

God has just given me such an amazing journey and able to play; it's been so much fun. I'm having a blast!

Work is so much fun that it doesn't really seem like downtime when I'm not. But cooking, spending time with my family, friends and dog are what I'm usually doing when I'm not working on something.

Growing up in Alaska, they don't really teach you to swim there. I learned to swim just a few summers ago with Olympic gold medalist Amanda Beard. She did great, and right after that I went to get scuba certified. I had fun with it. I didn't really get scared, but some people thought that was a risk.
