There's a certain glamour in IT now; it's the glamour of the dot-com. A lot of kids are attracted to the major because they hear about the great job offers and the high salaries.

We're seeing a lot of kids coming into computer science but not making it through the first course, ... Students appear to have more interest than ability.

We will win because you have stuffed more envelopes, and you have licked more stamps, and you have knocked on more doors and made more telephone calls than you have made for any candidate before. Let's turn out like we've never done before on November 7, and you will have made the sweetest history.

Students see these as exciting fields where there are lots of jobs and they can make a lot of money,

These guys are a great bunch of kids who were fun to coach. I have been so lucky since I have been here to coach great kids. And our seniors have had a great run. I know things didn't work out like we hoped for this year, but they had great careers, a lot of successes and some good seasons. They can hold their heads high because they gave it everything they had.
