There are standards to which students should adhere while in school so learning is not compromised and health and safety are not jeopardized.

Any threat to the health and safety of a child in any school or classroom is unacceptable.

I believe all students should get equal opportunity to arrive at school. This two-mile policy denies equal safety and protection of our children.

It's very exciting. Not only do our students get 17 days more of school, but they also won't have two months off right in the middle of the school year.

We hope it will make a big difference in the health and the safety for our students.

Public health and safety are my highest priorities.
