There are people in my life who give me comfort when the going gets tough, as it invariably does. I can count on them for a shoulder to cry on. They will lift me up when i fall, they will hold me in their arms as i cry and tell me everythings going to be okay. I am so thankful for those people, they are priceless.

Smile when it hurts most.

There is always something to do. There are hungry people to feed, naked people to clothe, sick people to comfort and make well. And while I don't expect you to save the world I do think it's not asking too much for you to love those with whom you sleep, share the happiness of those whom you call friend, engage those among you who are visionary and remove from your live those who offer you depression, despair and disrespect.

I encourage people to connect the dots. Hecht is a pro-life conservative, so we take a lot of comfort from that.

When someone is crying, of course, the noble thing to do is to comfort them. But if someone is trying to hide their tears, it may also be noble to pretend you do not notice them.

Many of the Comfort Kits we hand out contain friendly notes from Seattle students that bring smiles and sometimes tears to the faces of Gulf youth. It means a lot to the children to know that others care about them as they continue to process what happened.
