There are only so many linebacker spots. I assume the more he plays, the less I play. . . . I have to be prepared to play the whole game as I do every week.

I don't think this team gets frustrated. Not that I've noticed.

He not only was my soccer coach, but a mentor for life. He was a friend. I have nothing but best wishes for him. He was always very interested in us doing well outside of soccer. I last played for him 12 years ago and every year he calls me on my birthday. He was just always very supportive of everything in your life. It wasn't all about athletics. I'm a fairly successful guy now and a lot of it is due to him.

There's no carryover, ... I'm playing a position that's basically new to me, a whole new style and terminology of defense, so trying to couple those two together, it's been tough.

He obviously made quite a few big plays on the run here and sitting next to him in the meetings, I can see why. He's a smart guy. He knows exactly what's expected of him. He knows exactly what the offense is trying to do to him.

It is not awkward at all. There is a hierarchy and you follow the hierarchy. He is the defensive coordinator. It is not how old you are. He has been doing this for a very long time for someone his age. The hierarchy is also based on how well you do your job, and he does his job very well. He has earned the respect.
