There are guys you play against or with that you hit who were strong, and then there are guys whose muscles are made of steel. That was Ronnie Lott.

With the comeback of the 3-4 defense, like with Ray Lewis in Baltimore, they've had to learn to play a totally different game. And nobody plays all the time, so obviously they aren't going to have the same impact.

It has to hurt Miami, as effective as the two back rotation was for them last year. Ronnie looked to be a guy who could handle more responsibility and now he'll have the chance. But it's such a shame. After all the work Ricky put in and all the work the Dolphins put into him, it's sad for a guy who seemed to have his act back together.

Being innovative these days is sometimes having the lack of ego or guts to imitate something. Heck, in the newspaper industry, plagiarism is grounds for firing. In the NFL, you get a raise for doing that.
