There are always things that are going to happen, ... Anytime you deal with 88 guys, things are going to happen.

You are going to take care of the big guys and make sure they get enough liquid in them and just kind of keep a close eye on them. Things just sometimes happen, and it's a shame.

It's going to be a deal where, 'Hey, I got to get this guy out of here. We've got guys in the bullpen and we've got second and third and two outs, and we've got to get a hit. So let's pinch-hit for [the starter].' Even the other teams will do that,

We have no idea what's going to happen or who they want back. I know some guys I want back, so discussions will take place over the next couple of weeks.

They don't happen a lot. For some guys, they never happen. You cherish the ones you had before, and you look forward to some more.

Releasing players that have worked their tails off for the team is one of the toughest days for me, ... It's even tougher when you release veterans such as Hugh and Jon. They have contributed a great deal to the success of this team over the past few years, and we appreciate their efforts on and off the field.
