The weather has been a wonderful bonus. We're packed every day.

Our greens are as fast as I've ever seen, and the fairways are like runways.

I'm scared to death about a grass fire. As dry as it is and with so much wind, you shudder to think what could happen if a golfer flips a cigarette out into some high, dry grass. We have a lot of natural areas here, and those could really be in jeopardy.

This weather doesn't help any of us, but we've been lucky that it has not been at a growing time. Spring will tell what the effect is, and we just won't be sure until then. It might be a year when the fairways are slow coming back.

In the time of Galileo it was argued that the texts, 'And the sun stood still ... and hasted not to go down about a whole day' (Joshua x. 13) and 'He laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not move at any time' (Psalm cv. 5) were an adequate refutation of the Copernican theory.

No, I'm not interested in developing a powerful brain. All I'm after is just a mediocre brain, something like the President of the American Telephone and Telegraph Company.
