The way we've played the last three months hasn't been up to our capabilities. We have higher expectations with the players we have. We should be performing better.

The Pirates are extremely pleased to have Jim Tracy manage our club for the next three years. With his experience and winning record as a major-league manager, we feel he is the perfect fit to manage our team.

The [computers] need at least three months to get to know each other before an animator goes anywhere near them, ... I learned that computers are as human as the rest of us. Our technical director named all the machines after different bands. The four Macs in the edit suite were named after the Beatles; fair enough, I was John. But then we needed a fifth so he named it Yoko, and they all stopped talking to each other.

Our lineup's been thin all year, ... We played without three guys for three or four out of six months. We'll be all right.

A couple times I've played on three teams in three months. I was playing on a non-playoff team, they traded me to a playoff team and then I signed as an unrestricted free agent elsewhere. . . . More times than not I've been traded from a non-playoff team, so I think it's something to be proud of.

We hope to start our installation of equipment over the next two to three months with a view to initial operations starting by the end of the year. We are all excited about the prospects for this new business.
