The tribes are still very concerned about the targeted efforts to disenfranchise their vote. We are having to change a mind-set that exists.

They say a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. I took mine and fell flat on my face. As a young woman, I dreamed of changing the world. In my twenties, I went to africa to try and save the continent, only to learn that Africans neither wanted nor needed saving. Indeed, when I was there, I saw some of the worst that good intentions, traditional charity, and aid can produce...

I concluded that if I could only nudge the world a little bit, maybe that would be enough.

But nudging isn't enough.

I'm doing pretty good with all of the events. I'm always looking for personal records.

They are doing their part in the command. They muster with us in the morning ... some of them are staff here standing watch, while others are sent on details to different areas in the hospital. They mainly perform administrative work.

Quality of life is important to have ... we want to make them feel at home even though they can't get there yet. [The patients] are sent from their parent command, away from their families ... we want to make them as comfortable as we can while they are here.
