The safety of our staff is a top priority, and we take this incident very seriously.

The goals are very simple. It's designed to address what are described as community risks and also sex offender treatment needs. Anyone that's in that particular program, they'll assess community risk, they'll also assess the sex offender treatment needs. They'll share with the judge, and the court would take a look at that before they would make a determination.

The staff member was a functional unit manager and has been with the department for six and a half years. The incident occurred in the functional unit manager's office, and the staff member suffered injuries in the incident.
