The road was insane. We crossed bodies of water -- rivers --12 times.

On the way back from a hard work day, we'd be all sweaty and dirty and gross right next to each other, and nobody complained.

We handed out gifts and care packages, and some of the students went swimming with the kids.

Within that five years they want to build enough confidence with the them and us that eventually they can send a couple daring doctors to hike up to the people and do medical applications there.

It just felt very eerie, mystical, like it wasn't real. I was kind of intimidated, a lot of us didn't know what to do.

I took that as even more important, especially with how the U.S. is often perceived. We did something that will leave a lasting impression, and that made me proud.
