The purpose of the march was to show our state and local representatives that the people of Indianapolis are united within our communities.

The least these demonstrations will do is call attention to the representatives and decision-makers of our nation.

They had their own combine down there this year. The [NFL's] Combine ended March 4 [in Indianapolis], and they had their own in Miami on March 7. And everybody in the NFL showed up.

Our elected representatives wisely enacted laws to protect our state and local governments from undue outside influence.

We are grateful that people throughout the United States are so willing to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
